Endless days is the third part to my series. It is an acrylic based oil painting of two elderly people that i personally knew and the shadows of their past.
Endless days
I remember those days
those days that seemed free
those days that seemed endless with that nice warm breeze
then one day we morphed
we morphed and we changed
from then on we prayed for one of those endless days
Artist statement
My art is many things but overall it’s a reflection of me and how I see the world. I use oil and acrylic paintbrush strokes to simulate happiness when doing abstract pieces and chalk pastels to rub warmth when doing landscapes. I use charcoal to show confidence when drawing portraits by using strong and light value. I use graphite to show a sense of emptiness by using bold and settle curved and straight lines which I think is best used when showing perspective. No matter what type of media or technique I use they all derive from one being, me.
I am inspired by local artist such as Keith Norval and famous artist similar to the styles of Albert Bierstadt and Van Gough. Every one of their art pieces conveys a strong feel, mood, and tone. Their settle color and eye drawing composition is what makes the pieces that much better, even though with Keith Norvals art he used more color and a more funky and distinctive type of methods.
Through my art I try to convey a tone of some sort. Feelings and messages like no other has seen. With art I can create, construct, design, build, think, form, and produce things by using unique colors, personal style, and remarkable technique. In my series of paintings I am going to directly express myself by tying together two different stories and connecting them by one common element, movement. Two of my paintings are acrylic and one is acrylic based oil. In these paintings I want to use color, shape, and rhythm to describe the combination of lost and the happy feelings. These paintings are bold, truthful, and different. In my paintings I am going to tell the story of true people and the way I see them. My goal is to illuminate eyes and stimulate minds into what is really out there and go beyond what you see.
A person is born with countless numbers of paths, but only need one to succeed.
Don’t try to inspire hundreds if you could fail, just inspire one and thousands will follow.
The movement is made with acrylic paint and a resin and acrylic background. I used the combination of neutral colors black and white, which is also a monochromatic color scheme.
This image is a serigraph print on black and white paper. The neutral colors intertwine like a weaving of black and white.
A self portrait on drawing paper made with water color and graphite pencil. In this portrait i wanted the eyes to be the main focus and i used the purple to bring them out even more. The word Faith is written to the left to show the point of the picture which was to describe me and my faith and the beauty in it.
A mixed media drawing of the Taj Mahal and seven wonders of the world hidden in the picture. Watercolor pencils, charcoal, and chalk were used in this drawing as well as line, value, and color.
